Surkhandarya region’s GRP increases by 6.8% in 2009

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Gross regional product (GRP) of Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan rose by 6.8% in 2009.

Industrial output of the region increased by 6.6% in the reporting period and production of consumer goods rose by 5.1%.

Retail trade turnover of Surkhandarya region grew by 15.1% and services up by 21.6%, UzA reported.

The region realized 88 investment projects in the reporting, which allowed to create 3,200 work places.
