Surkhandarya region’s economy increases by 6.6% in Jan-Sep

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Surkhandarya region’s gross regional product made up 6.6% in January-September 2009, UzA reported.

The report said the regio’s industrial production increased by 9.2%, construction works by 25.5%, retail trade by 13.6% and paid services by 24.1%.

The investment activities of 17 of 55 exporting enterprises were supported. The banks issued credits worth 62.4 billion soums for the support of the small business and private entrepreneurs.
