Uzbekistan, GAC Discuss Auto Component Production

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Prospects for localising the production of automotive components in Uzbekistan were among the topics discussed during talks held as part of the Uzbekistan–Hong Kong Business Forum in Tashkent.

Mirziyod Yunusov, Chairman of the Uzavtosanoat Association, met with GAC International President Dr. Wayne Wei, where the sides discussed potential joint projects in the automotive sector and the expansion of cooperation with Uzbek enterprises.

Special attention was given to organising the production of auto components in Uzbekistan and developing industrial cooperation with local manufacturers.

Participants noted that localisation of automotive component production could help meet domestic demand, increase import-substituting output and strengthen the country’s export potential.

The talks were held on 4 June as part of the Uzbekistan–Hong Kong Business Forum, aimed at expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation between the parties.
