Snow falls in western Canada in summer

The first snow fell in western province of Canada – Alberta – on Friday, 21 August 2015, according to the local mass media.
According to Environment Canada, snow fell in mountainous areas in the south of the region near from Calgary – largest city of the province.
The weather forecasters said the snow fell due to a cold atmospheric front. Snowfall lasted half a day.
The soil was covered with up to 2.2 cm snow. The temperature in the region sharply slipped from +20 to +2 degrees.
The weather forecasters noted that snow can also fall in Saskatchewan and Manitoba provinces of Canada as the cyclone moves to east.
