Small businesses produce 41.1% of Uzbekistan’s GDP

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Share of small businesses in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Uzbekistan made up 41.1% in the first half of 2010, the Ministry of Economy and State Statistics Committee said in its report.

Share of small businesses in GDP of the country was 40.9% in the first six months of 2009, according to official data.

Small businesses accounted 16.7% of industrial output and employed about 74% of population in the reporting period.

The growth rate of industrial production in small business made up 22.1% in January-June 2010, which is significantly high in average industry figure.
