Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Employers in Slovenia have expressed interest in hiring workers from Samarkand, according to the results of a meeting between the governor of Samarkand region and Greta Metka Barbo Škerbinč, head of Slovenia’s Employment Service.
The central topic of the talks was the organization of labor migration and the creation of a pool of qualified specialists for the Slovenian labor market. In May of this year, Uzbekistan’s Migration Agency and Slovenia’s Employment Service signed a roadmap providing for the launch of professional training programs in Uzbekistan based on Slovenian standards. This initiative will help prepare specialists in high demand across Europe.
During the discussions, the two sides agreed on practical steps for implementing the agreement. Representatives of the Slovenian delegation emphasized the readiness of employers to hire workers from Samarkand who possess the required skills and language proficiency under an organized recruitment system.
The program of the visit also includes visits to training centers in Samarkand to assess the preparation of future specialists on the ground.
