Seven Uzbek Citizens Killed in Drone Attack in Russia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Seven Uzbek citizens were killed in a drone attack on facilities in Nizhnekamsk, Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, on 10 August, the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan said.
According to the information provided in the statement, 13 people were killed and another 39 sustained injuries of varying severity in the incident.
The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan has established contact with local competent authorities and investigators and is monitoring the situation. After the completion of forensic examinations and the necessary official procedures, measures will be taken to return the bodies of the Uzbek citizens to Uzbekistan.
By a decision of Tatarstan Rais Rustam Minnikhanov, 10 August was declared a day of mourning in the republic for those killed.
The city prosecutor’s office is monitoring the observance of citizens’ rights and the provision of necessary assistance. The numbers 8 (8555) 470-303 and 8 (843) 291-18-81 have been provided for assistance. (Reuters)
