Prices for gas in Uzbekistan hikes by 8%

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Prices for natural gas for population and enterprises will increase in Uzbekistan from 1 April 2016. The growth rate makes up 8%.

New tariff gas prices were approved by the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan, according to Uztransgaz.

The company said that the population will pay 226 soums per 1 cubic meter of gas if they have gas meter. The current cost of 1 cubic meter of gas is 208.92 soums. The growth rate made up 8%.

At the same time, the cost of 1 cubic meter of gas, if there is no gas meter, will grow from 361.295 soums to 390.83 soums (+8%).

Uzbekistan increased prices for gas and electricity last time in October 2015.
