Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan Expand Cooperation in Geology

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan have discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the fields of geology, subsoil use, and underground water resource management. The talks took place during a working visit by Rustam Yusupov, Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology of Uzbekistan, to the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the meetings, the sides reviewed the preparation of a joint Action Plan in the mining and geological sectors, as well as opportunities for implementing projects on the exploration and development of mineral deposits.

Particular attention was paid to the exchange of experience and the introduction of modern technologies in geological exploration. The participants discussed prospects for using advanced methods of subsoil research to develop the industry.

A separate area of focus was studying Kyrgyzstan's experience in the rational use, protection, and monitoring of groundwater resources.

The parties considered possibilities for applying digital technologies and artificial intelligence in hydrogeological modeling, data analysis, and forecasting.

Following the meetings, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan reaffirmed their mutual interest in further developing cooperation and implementing joint projects in the field of geology and the rational use of natural resources.
