President: Uzbek population exceeds 31m people

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Number of population of Uzbekistan exceeded 31 million people, the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov stated in his speech at the solemn ceremony dedicated to the 23rd anniversary of Independence of Uzbekistan.

According to the head of Uzbekistan, during independence years of Uzbekistan grew by 10.3 million people.

He said that human resources expand economic potential and create foundation for further development of Uzbekistan.
