Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Widespread violations of deadlines for reviewing citizens’ appeals have been identified in Uzbekistan’s state bodies and local administrations.

According to an inspection conducted by the Presidential Reception Office, the largest number of overdue appeals was recorded in the administration of the Andijan region, with 137 cases.

The Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment ranked second with 107 overdue cases, while the administration of the Surkhandarya region ranked third with 103 violations of established deadlines.

Other bodies with a high number of overdue appeals included the Competition Development Committee, the Mahalla Association, the Tashkent city administration, the administrations of the Kashkadarya and Namangan regions, and the Committee on Family and Women’s Affairs.

According to the reported data, violations of deadlines for reviewing citizens’ appeals were identified in 41 ministries, agencies and regional administrations. The total number of overdue appeals amounted to 1,070 cases.

Following the inspection, supervisory letters were sent to the heads of the relevant bodies requiring them to promptly eliminate the identified shortcomings and hold responsible employees accountable.

It was reported that disciplinary measures were imposed on 36 employees as part of internal investigations, while a further 19 individuals were dismissed.

Materials related to 13 state bodies that committed systemic violations and failed to remedy deficiencies were forwarded to the General Prosecutor’s Office for legal assessment.
