Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reorganized the Uzbek Agency for Press and Information into the Agency of Information and Mass Communications.

The head of Uzbekistan signed a decree and resolution on reforming the UzAPI.

The Agency of Information and Mass Communications has become the authorized body in the sphere of the development and implementation of the state information policy. At the same time, the Agency was transferred to the structure of the presidential administration.

The new agency will develop the media and improve the work of the press services of government agencies to ensure openness.

All public authorities and administrations will have to follow the instructions of the agency in the information sphere.

The director of the agency of information and mass communications is equal to the first deputy adviser to the President of Uzbekistan.
