Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Two projects submitted by Uzbekistan have been selected for funding under the 2026 Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Actions (JMA) call. The winning projects were submitted by Karakalpak State University and Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT), Erasmus+ said.

Karakalpak State University received support to implement a Jean Monnet Module project, while WIUT will implement a Jean Monnet Chair project.

A total of 156 applications were submitted from Uzbekistan under the call. Two projects were selected for funding, including one Jean Monnet Module and one Jean Monnet Chair.

Across the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Actions 2026 call, 2,223 applications were registered. Of these, 327 projects were recommended for funding, representing a success rate of 15%.

Of the selected projects, 147, or 45% of all funded initiatives, will be implemented in countries that are not participants in the Erasmus+ programme.

Jean Monnet Actions are aimed at developing academic and research capacity in the field of European Union studies. The programme also seeks to strengthen dialogue among academia, public policy representatives and society.

For Uzbekistan, the results of the call mean support for two educational projects to be implemented by Karakalpak State University and WIUT. The funding will enable the universities to carry out initiatives under the respective Jean Monnet Actions.
