Uzbekistan can produce up to 8.9bn cubic meters of biogas a year

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Uzbekistan possesses technical potential for production of 8.9 billion cubic meters of biogas a year, according to experts.

Uzbekistan Today newspaper reported that the calorific value of this volume is equal to 6.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

Introduction of the bio facilities in Uzbekistan will also help to cut emission of hydrocarbon acid gas by 7-11 million tonnes a year and produce over 14 million tonnes of bio fertilizers.

This volume of bio fertilizers can cover demand for this type of fertilizers of all arable lands in Uzbekistan. While use of the bio fertilizers can increase land productivity by 30%.
