Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Azerbaijani Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev, at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan, hosted the presentation of the poetry collection “Yana oy kechadi, yillar o‘tadi…” (“Months Will Pass Again, Years Will Fly…”), published in Tashkent in Uzbek.
The author of the book is Professor Mahira Nagygzy, Vice-Rector for International Relations at the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and a renowned poetess.
The event, held at the Heydar Aliyev Museum within the Center, brought together representatives of Uzbek culture and arts, writers, poets, educators, and university students.
Akif Marifli, Director of the Azerbaijani Cultural Center, opened the event by highlighting Mahira Nagygzy’s deep love for her homeland and her respected role as an educator and intellectual, whose works resonate throughout the Turkic world. He also noted that this is the first of her books published in Uzbek and shared plans to translate one of her academic monographs into Uzbek.
Gayrat Majid, Deputy Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Uzbekistan, emphasized that the central themes of the poetess’s work are love for the homeland and mothers, expressing confidence that the collection will occupy a worthy place among works cherished by Uzbek readers.
Dilnoza Kholmuradova, Vice-Rector of the Nizami National University of Uzbekistan, underlined that Mahira Nagygzy’s poetry carries an important educational message, fostering patriotism and respect for spiritual values among youth.
Badirkhan Akhmedov, Professor at the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, noted that publishing Azerbaijani authors’ works in fraternal Turkic countries is especially significant for strengthening cultural ties and popularizing national literature.
During the presentation, representatives of scientific and educational institutions from both countries also spoke, noting that the Uzbek edition of the collection contributes to cultural dialogue and mutual enrichment of literary traditions.
The artistic program featured students reciting Mahira Nagygzy’s poems, accompanied by a video clip of a song set to her lyrics. The event concluded with an autograph session and the author’s expression of gratitude to the organizers and participants.
