Over Half of Uzbekistan’s Population Is Under 30 Years Old
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — More than half of Uzbekistan’s population consists of citizens under the age of 30, according to preliminary data released by the National Committee for Statistics following the processing of recent population census materials.
According to the agency, the total population of the republic is estimated at 39 million people. Out of this total, 38.5%, or approximately 15 million people, are under 20 years of age.
The share of children under the age of 14 accounts for 30.5% of the population, which corresponds to 11.9 million people. Overall, the number of citizens under 30 has reached 20.3 million people, representing 52% of the country's total population.
The National Committee for Statistics also reported that within the 40 to 44 age group, the number of men and women is virtually identical. In younger age categories, males predominate, whereas females constitute the majority among the older segments of the population.
The agency emphasized that these published metrics are preliminary and remain subject to adjustment once the comprehensive processing and analysis of all population census data are completed.
