Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — According to preliminary results of the population and agriculture census, the population of Uzbekistan stands at 39,047,321 people. Within this total, the number of residents in the country aged 85 and older has reached 168,973 people.

The most numerous age group is children between 0 and 4 years old, numbering 4,607,149 people. The age group of 5 to 9 years contains 3,859,606 people, the 10 to 14 age group numbers 3,406,515 people, and the 15 to 19 age group comprises 3,155,802 people.

The population aged 20 to 24 stands at 2,662,250 people, while there are 2,649,263 people aged 25 to 29, 3,167,974 people aged 30 to 34, 3,090,226 people aged 35 to 39, and 2,687,261 people aged 40 to 44.

In the older demographics, 2,242,676 people are in the 45 to 49 age group, 1,913,838 people are aged 50 to 54, 1,647,864 people are aged 55 to 59, 1,471,110 people are aged 60 to 64, and 1,174,839 people are aged 65 to 69.

The number of residents aged 70 to 74 is 669,046 people, followed by 342,554 people aged 75 to 79, and 130,375 people aged 80 to 84, alongside the 168,973 individuals who are 85 years old and older.

The preliminary census results demonstrate that nearly 169,000 people living in Uzbekistan have reached the age of 85 or older.
