Uzbekistan and Japan's NEC to Expand ICT Partnership
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan intends to significantly expand the scale of its interaction with the leading Japanese corporation NEC.
Within the framework of bilateral negotiations, Deputy Head of the Ministry Jahongir Maksudov and Teruyuki Nakajima, Senior Vice President of the foreign technology company, analyzed the current results of their joint activities. The leaders emphasized the successful nature of the partnership relations, which have been continuously developing for more than thirty years, and assessed the implementation progress of ongoing projects in the modernization of the country's telecommunications infrastructure.
Special attention was paid by the parties to diversifying the areas of cooperation and exploring opportunities to integrate the latest Japanese digital platforms into various sectors of the national economy, moving beyond the traditionally exclusive communications sector.
During the presentation of the country's investment potential, the Uzbek side provided detailed information on the established regulatory framework, tax preferences, and technical conditions available for deploying large-scale projects. In particular, the Japanese partners were invited to consider opportunities for constructing modern, high-tech data processing centers in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
Following the meeting, the delegations confirmed their mutual readiness to provide uninterrupted support and maintenance for all launched joint programs. In addition, representatives of the ministry and the Japanese corporation agreed to intensify joint work on modeling innovative technological solutions and launching new pilot initiatives adapted for subsequent implementation at both governmental and commercial levels in Uzbekistan.
