Yandex Uzbekistan Wins ESG Awards 2026 for Digital Inclusion
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Yandex Uzbekistan has been named a winner of the international ESG Awards 2026, receiving the award in the Digital Impact in ESG category.
The award was presented during the Tashkent International Investment Forum in recognition of the company's initiatives in digital inclusion, educational development, and expanding access to modern technologies for residents of Uzbekistan.
The jury highlighted Yandex Uzbekistan's projects aimed at creating equal opportunities in the digital environment. The company consistently develops digital accessibility by adapting its services and working environment for people with disabilities.
Currently, specialized features for blind and visually impaired users are implemented in nine of the company's services, including Yandex Go, Alisa AI, Mail, Browser, Yandex Music, and Yandex Books.
Particular attention is given to developing inclusive solutions within the Yandex Go service. More than 700 deaf and hard-of-hearing drivers currently cooperate with the platform. For users with disabilities, functions are available to order vehicles adapted for transporting wheelchairs, communicate with the driver via text, and utilize additional tools that simplify finding the vehicle.
The company is also developing accessible urban navigation. The Yandex Maps service features accessibility information for more than 19,000 objects across the country, including details on the availability of ramps, elevators, and barrier-free entrances.
Developing digital competencies remains one of Yandex Uzbekistan's key areas of activity. The company implements free educational programs in programming and artificial intelligence for school students and teachers. To date, more than 1,100 teachers have registered for the courses, and the Yandex Uzbekistan Programming School has received over 1,200 applications.
The ESG Awards are presented annually to projects that contribute to achieving sustainable development goals in environmental, social, and corporate governance spheres. In 2026, the award ceremony took place within the framework of the Tashkent International Investment Forum.
The awards were organized by Coca-Cola in Uzbekistan in partnership with the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Foreign Investors Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
