Nearly 5 Million Uzbek Citizens Live in Apartment Buildings
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — In Uzbekistan, 4.8 million people reside in apartments within multi-family residential buildings, according to preliminary results from the population and agriculture census.
The census data indicates that apartment residents account for 12.4% of the country's total population.
The vast majority of the population—33.3 million people, or 85.3%—reside in individual residential houses.
An additional 927.3 thousand people, corresponding to 2.3% of the population, live in other types of residential premises. This category includes country houses, dormitories, hotels, and other places of residence.
Consequently, the residential structure of the population of Uzbekistan continues to be characterized by the predominance of individual housing developments.
