Output of medical industry reaches 498.3bn soums in Jan-Sep

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Enterprises of medical industry of Uzbekistan produced industrial products for 498.3 billion soums in nine months of 2015, which rose by 30.2% year-on-year.

According to the Uzbek State Statistics Committee, the enterprises increased production of glass ampoules - 4.9 times, Pro-vitamins, vitamins and their derivatives - 2.5 times, medicines containing no hormones or antibiotics – 1,6 times.

The largest volume of industrial production in the sector was recorded by the enterprises of Tashkent (56.4% of the total manufacturing industry), Tashkent region (21.1%), Namangan region (7.3%) and Syrdarya region (6.8%).

Small busineses of industry increased production by 65.6% in the reporting period and they account 56.1% of total production of medical industry.

Currently, over 252 enterprises work in the industry, of which 49 were created in 2015.
