FlyArystan to Launch Direct Almaty–Urgench Flights
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Kazakhstan's low-cost carrier FlyArystan will launch direct scheduled flights between Almaty and Urgench on 3 September. The service will operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays.
The new route is expected to strengthen transport connectivity between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan and support the development of tourism cooperation between the two countries.
According to the organisers, the flights are expected to increase the number of visitors from Kazakhstan to Khorezm Region, make travel more convenient, reduce travel time and enhance the region's appeal in the international tourism market.
The Tourism Committee noted that Khorezm is one of the historic centres of the Silk Road and attracts visitors with its rich cultural heritage, architectural monuments and national traditions. Among the region's best-known attractions are the ancient city of Khiva and the Itchan Kala architectural complex, which is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
To support the launch of the new route, promotional materials highlighting the tourism potential of Khorezm Region have been prepared. In addition, an information and advertising campaign is being conducted in Kazakhstan to promote the region's historical and cultural heritage, modern tourism infrastructure, and opportunities for pilgrimage, cultural and gastronomic tourism.
