Non-governmental sector account 76.2% of Uzbekistan’s GDP in 1Q

The volume of gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan made up 10.003 trillion soums in January-March 2010, or rose by 7.6% year-on-year.
Non-governmental sector produced 76.2% of GDP in the first quarter of 2010 compared to 73.7% in the same period of 2009. The share of the state sector made up 23.8% (26.2% in 1Q 2009).
Small businesses produced 38% of GDP, which is up 1.8% percentage points year-on-year. Small enterprises and microfirms produced 23.1% of GDP in January-March 2010.
The significant growth of gross regional product were recorded in Namangan (12.6%), Samarkand (12.2%), Andijan regions (11%) and Tashkent city (9.2%).
