Uzbekistan, US Expand Investment Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev met with Chair of the American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) Caroline Lamm and an AUCC delegation visiting Tashkent.

The sides discussed the current state and prospects for expanding economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States.

It was noted that the United States remains one of Uzbekistan’s key economic partners, playing an important role in attracting investment, modernising industry, transferring technology, and integrating into global production chains.

It was underlined that 77 joint investment projects are currently being implemented in Uzbekistan with leading US companies, with a total value of US$35 billion. The projects cover energy, critical minerals, chemicals, infrastructure, agriculture, digital technologies, and high-tech manufacturing.

The sides also reviewed opportunities to further expand US business presence in Uzbekistan and new areas of cooperation. These include artificial intelligence, data centres, green energy, processing of critical minerals, pharmaceuticals, and financial services.

The contribution of the American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Caroline Lamm to facilitating direct dialogue between Uzbekistan and the US business community was acknowledged.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to continue joint efforts to attract investment and implement long-term projects.
