Mirziyoyev visits new Ferghana IT Park in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the IT Park in the city of Ferghana and reviewed the conditions created for the development of information technologies and the support of youth initiatives.
The complex was built in line with directives issued by the head of state during his visit in August 2024.
The project was implemented using state budget funds totaling 150 billion soums and is designed to accommodate up to 200 people at a time. The infrastructure enables more than 3,000 young specialists annually to be involved in training and practical projects, while also providing a wide range of IT services.
The IT Park features a modern coworking environment for programmers and freelancers, with fully equipped office spaces provided to residents. The center integrates education, development, and service delivery processes, which is expected to expand youth self-employment opportunities and support stable income generation.
In recent years, the region’s IT sector has demonstrated steady growth. The volume of IT services in the Ferghana region has increased fourfold, while exports have exceeded US$23 million. The number of IT Park resident companies in the region has reached 139. In 2025, IT service exports amounted to US$22.7 million.
With the launch of the new facility, further expansion of the ecosystem is planned: the number of residents is expected to increase to 200, around 700 new jobs will be created, and IT service exports are projected to reach US$30 million.
In the future, the IT Park is expected to become a hub for artificial intelligence technologies and host projects aimed at digitalizing management systems.
Educational programs in artificial intelligence, programming, graphic design, computer literacy, and English language are also planned. To support startups, mechanisms for venture financing, grants, and accelerator programs will be introduced.
During the visit, Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with IT Park residents and young specialists working in the field of information technology.
Their initiatives and proposals were supported.
