Mirziyoyev congratulates Japarov on Kyrgyzstan's UN Security Council seat

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov on 4 June, congratulating the Kyrgyz side on its election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2027–2028 term.

Mirziyoyev said the election reflects broad international recognition of Kyrgyzstan’s foreign policy and its contribution to regional stability and security.

The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination and mutual support within international organizations and multilateral platforms.

During the conversation, the presidents expressed satisfaction with the current level of friendship, good-neighborly relations, and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Particular attention was given to the practical implementation of agreements reached during previous high-level meetings. The leaders discussed further cooperation in the economic, transport, and energy sectors, as well as collaboration in cultural and humanitarian fields.

The presidents also reviewed the schedule of upcoming events and future high-level contacts.
