Saida Mirziyoyeva Speaks Out Against Construction on Children's Playgrounds

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva declared that children's playgrounds, green areas, and other public spaces must be used strictly for their intended purpose and cannot be built over with business centers or residential complexes.

She cited as an example the situation in the "Lolazor" mahalla in the Mirabad district of Tashkent, where, according to her, trees planted by local residents were destroyed, and a business center was planned on the site of a children's playground.

Mirziyoyeva noted that such cases spark justified discontent among capital residents, as construction leads to the city losing courtyards, children's play areas, and sports grounds.

According to her, the Prosecutor General's Office will conduct an inventory of similar sites across Tashkent.

During the inspection, authorities plan to review the legality of issued construction permits, compliance with urban planning norms, and the protection of residents' rights.

If violations are revealed following the inspection, those responsible will face liability, up to and including imprisonment, emphasized the Head of the Presidential Administration.
