Mukhlisa Masharipova Wins Gold at U17 World Wrestling Championships

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Mukhlisa Masharipova, representing the national team of Uzbekistan, has become world champion at the U17 World Wrestling Championships currently taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan.

In the final match of the 43 kg weight category, the Uzbek wrestler defeated Finja Strauch of Germany to secure the gold medal.

The Wrestling Federation also reported that five representatives of Uzbekistan's freestyle wrestling squad will compete in the qualification rounds during the next competition day.

Additionally, Sabrina Abdreymova will continue fighting for a bronze medal via the repechage round. Her opponent will be determined by the outcome of a match between Madalina Pavel of Romania and Valeriya Stancheva of Bulgaria in the 53 kg weight category.
