Two time world champion Abbos Atoev won the first round in the bout against Ryoto Murata with the score 4-1. The second round ended with 4-4 draw.
In the third round, Atoev tried to hold his advantage and chose defensive approach. But referees handed over victory with the score 4-8 to his opponent.
Abbos Attoev completed his participation in London Games and won the second bronze medal of Uzbekistan. Judoka Rishod Sobirov won a bronze medal in weight category of 60 kg.
