Lake Aydarkul Hosts Jizzakh Open Air-2026 Tourism Festival

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The shores of Lake Aydarkul in the Jizzakh region hosted the Jizzakh Open Air - 2026 International Tourism Festival. The large-scale, two-day event was organized through the joint efforts of the regional khokimiyat, the Committee for Tourism, the Ministry of Culture, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, as well as the administrations of the country's regions and the city of Tashkent.

The primary objective of the project was to promote the Jizzakh region as a modern tourism hub in both domestic and international markets, and to popularize local natural resources, beach recreation, and national gastronomy in close connection with the sports industry.

As part of the festival program, exhibition pavilions representing all regions of Uzbekistan were set up, where visitors could familiarize themselves with the culinary traditions, artisan handicrafts, and cultural characteristics of each region.

The central sporting event of the festival was the Asian Beach Volleyball Championship, conducted according to international standards with the participation of foreign athletes. Additionally, competitions in mini-football, beach tennis, and various water sports disciplines were organized for the guests.

The cultural block of the event included performances by pop artists, folklore ensembles, and DJs. Special info-tours were arranged for domestic and foreign tour operators, journalists, and bloggers to promote the tourism potential of the location.

Visitors were also offered a wide range of activities, including hot air balloon and paraglider flights, quad bike rides, horse and camel riding, and kayaking.

The festival, which concluded with a festive firework display, is designed to increase the investment attractiveness of the Jizzakh region, stimulate job creation, and strengthen the international image of the region.
