Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the operations of a new Congress Hall, a three-star hotel and the Khiva Ichan-Kala Reception House built in Khiva to host major international events and accommodate tourists and foreign delegations, according to the press service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The facilities were built in accordance with a presidential document dated 30 April 2026. Their launch is expected to create around 2,000 jobs, serve up to 50,000 tourists annually and increase services exports to US$4 million.

The Congress Hall combines a modern premium style with elements of traditional Khorezm architecture. The complex is designed to host international forums, business conferences, intergovernmental negotiations and cultural events.

A total of 857 billion soums in state budget funds was allocated for the construction of the facility, which occupies 1.9 hectares. Green areas and pedestrian boulevards have been created around the Congress Hall, with landscaping carried out as part of the nationwide Yashil Makon project.

A three-star hotel for participants of international events and tourists has been built next to the Congress Hall. Investment in the project amounted to 169 billion soums, and 60 jobs were created on a 1.6-hectare site.

The four-storey hotel can accommodate 310 guests and has 156 rooms. The building includes a lobby, reception area, restaurant and bar, children’s room and terrace. It also features an indoor swimming pool and fitness and wellness facilities.

The hotel and Congress Hall are connected by green pedestrian boulevards to the Boqiy Shahar historical and ethnographic park and craft shopping rows.

The president also inspected the Khiva Ichan-Kala Reception House. The two-hectare complex is designed to host official events and receive foreign delegations. The project cost 260 billion soums.

The architecture of the Reception House incorporates traditional Khorezm features, including carved wooden columns, ganch decorative elements and blue and turquoise tiles. Photo exhibitions dedicated to the region’s history and traditional craft workshops have been established on the surrounding grounds.

During the visit, Mirziyoyev met with representatives of the Khorezm region community. The participants discussed the transformations taking place in the region in recent years, as well as changes in the population’s lifestyle and outlook.

The president stressed the need to use the newly created infrastructure effectively, increase the number of major international events held in Khiva, improve the quality of tourism services and continue creating new jobs.
