No Injuries Reported in Tashkent Region Bus Engine Fire

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A passenger bus operating route 10 caught fire in the Kibray district of Tashkent Region on 15 August 2026, with no casualties reported, UzDaily.uz reported, citing the press service of Toshshahartransxizmat.

The incident occurred at approximately 16:10 along Charogon Street in the O'nkurgon mahalla. A short circuit in the electrical wiring of the engine compartment triggered the fire in the Mercedes-Benz Low Floor bus, which operates between the Khodjakurgon mahalla and Yunusabad 12th Block. The vehicle belonged to depot branch No. 5 of Toshshahartransxizmat.

The driver promptly evacuated all passengers to a safe distance and attempted to extinguish the flames using onboard firefighting equipment. A fire and rescue crew from the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control.

Following the incident, the bus was towed to a repair facility, where specialists are conducting necessary restoration work.
