Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Mandatory registration of domestic pets and livestock with veterinary passports and official state registration will begin in Uzbekistan on 7 August 2026.

The veterinary passport will serve as an official document containing the animal's identification number, owner information, and details of vaccinations and medical treatment.

According to the established procedure, owners must register cattle, sheep, goats, and camels within 14 days of birth, pigs within 30 days, horses before reaching four months of age, and dogs and cats before reaching three months.

To obtain a veterinary passport, owners must apply to their district or city veterinary department with an application and identification document. State registration and the issuance of a veterinary passport are processed within three days.

Existing legislation already provides for mandatory animal identification and registration.

At the same time, the issue of introducing liability for late registration of animals may be regulated by separate normative acts.
