Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Tashkent Khokimiyat has initiated an internal investigation concerning the khokims of ten of the capital's twelve districts. The corresponding decree by City Khokim Shavkat Umurzakov was published on the E-qaror portal.

The basis for the probe was a submission issued by the Anti-Corruption Agency on 22 July 2026. The investigation will cover the khokims of Almazar, Bektemir, Mirabad, Mirzo-Ulugbek, Sergeli, Uchtepa, Chilanzar, Shaykhantakhur, Yunusabad, and Yashnabad districts.

A five-member commission headed by Shukhrat Turdikulov, head of the compliance and internal anti-corruption control service at the Tashkent Khokimiyat, has been tasked with conducting the internal inquiry.

The commission also includes Shahrukh Mamadanov, head of the city khokim's office; Khondamir Turgunov, head of the khokimiyat's organizational and human resources group; Mahkam Vakhidov, head of the legal department; and Nigora Sabitova, chief specialist in the public appeals department.

According to the order, the commission has been instructed to conduct an objective and comprehensive internal review and prepare corresponding conclusions based on its results.

If necessary, specialists from relevant state bodies may be involved in the investigation.
