IT Park Uzbekistan Strengthens Technology Cooperation With Georgia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Uzbekistan-Georgia Business Forum was held in Tbilisi on 1 July 2026, focusing on the development of trade, economic, investment, and industrial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Georgia. The event was attended by representatives of government agencies, financial institutions, and business communities from both countries.
Digital services emerged as one of the key focus areas of the forum. The sides discussed expanding cooperation in the fields of fintech, e-commerce, artificial intelligence, BPO services, and the digitalization of trade and logistics.
On the sidelines of the forum, IT Park Uzbekistan held a series of bilateral meetings dedicated to developing startup ecosystems, attracting venture capital, and supporting the entry of technology companies into international markets.
A dedicated meeting was held with Irakli Kashibadze, founder and CEO of Future Laboratory, managing partner of Future Laboratory Ventures, and the first chairman of Georgia's Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA). The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the startup ecosystems of the two countries, as well as promoting the Land of Startups initiative.
The parties reviewed issues concerning the preparation of startups for international expansion, including attracting investments, foreign market entry strategies, intellectual property protection, legal support, and access to venture networks. They also discussed utilizing Future Laboratory's experience in bringing startups to the US market, organizing joint demo days, and developing infrastructure to support innovative projects.
Additionally, the IT Park Uzbekistan delegation held a meeting with Nodo Ivanidze, founder and CEO of Global Tech Weekend. The sides discussed expanding their partnership following the event held in Tashkent and explored the possibility of organizing Global Tech Weekend 2027 in Uzbekistan.
