GM Uzbekistan to launch serial production of Chevrolet Aveo in end of 2Q

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- GM Uzbekistan, an Uzbek-US joint venture, will start a serial production of T-250 model of automobiles (Chevrolet Aveo) in the end of the second quarter of 2016.

According to information service of Uzavtosanoat, the enterprise is completing a project on launching of serial production of T-250 model.

New model will replace Nexia automobiles. Uzavtosanoat noted that, the serial production and exports of T-250 automobiles will be launched in the second quarter of 2016.

Earlier, it was reported that GM Uzbekistan will invest US$104.2 million into project on organization of serial production of automobile based on T250 platform.

The capacity of new line will be 73,600 automobiles a tear. The Aveo will replace similar models, produced at GM Uzbekistan within two years and help to diversify exports.
