German Expert: Central Asia Unity Ensures Stability

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Relations between Germany and the countries of Central Asia are currently based on trust and mutual respect, with Berlin acting not only as an economic partner but also as a key political partner of the region.

André Allemissen, head of the regional program of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, made this statement at the Experts’ Forum in Khiva.

He noted that the Foundation’s systematic work in the region, which began in 1994, has created a strong basis for close and trust-based cooperation with local partners.

According to him, this cooperation is now gaining new momentum. Regular visits by state leaders and recent diplomatic trips by German State Minister at the Federal Foreign Office Günter Krichbaum confirm Germany’s view of Central Asia as a long-term priority partner.

Allemissen emphasized that the role of expert platforms is to translate political dialogue into practical content, ranging from innovation and the rule of law to large-scale cultural and educational exchanges.

He identified regional cohesion as a key condition for success. In this context, the Foundation sees its mission as building reliable channels of communication between regions. “We want to build bridges between Central Asia and Germany,” he said.

He added that combining German experience with the intellectual potential of Central Asian specialists enables effective responses to modern challenges and strengthens regional integration, which is also of interest to Europe.

Concluding his speech, Allemissen underlined the symbolic importance of the forum’s location.

Holding the event in the historic city of Khiva was described as a symbol of continuity and deep cultural mutual interest between the parties. “It is a great privilege to hold our forum in such a significant city,” he said.
