Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — On 15 August 2025, the Embassy of India in Tashkent celebrated the 79th anniversary of India’s Independence.

The ceremonial event was attended by around 250 guests, including members of the Indian community, friends of India, and local media representatives.

The Ambassador of India to Uzbekistan, Ms. Smita Pant, hoisted the national flag and read out a message from the President of India to the nation.

In her speech, the ambassador highlighted the positive development of bilateral relations and emphasized the active dialogue between the leaders of the two countries, referring to a phone conversation held on 12 August 2025.

Following the official part of the ceremony, guests enjoyed a solo performance on the tabla by Shri Arshad Khan, an instructor at the Lala Bahadur Shastri Indian Cultural Center.

The event concluded with a group photo session.
