Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) - Deputies of the Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan adopted a bill that toughens penalties for illegal cutting or damage of trees and shrubs.

The new law stipulates increased fines and the introduction of liability for the development of projects that lead to the destruction of valuable tree species.

It also envisages the obligation of violators, instead of destroyed plants, to plant new trees and shrubs, as well as to care for them for three years.
