Davis Cup: Uzbekistan loses to China

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan lost to China in Davis Cup’s Group 1 Asia/Oceania zone on Sunday. Uzbekistan should win both single matches to clinch victory in the tie.

Denis Istomin, Uzbekistan No. 1, defeated Ze Zhen in four sets - 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 and 7-5.

In the second match, Murod Inoyatov, who replaced Farrukh Dostov, failed to win Di Wu – – 6-3, 2-6, 3-6, and 3-6.

Now, Uzbekistan will face South Korea in play-off on 9-11 July 2010. The winner will retain its place in the Group 1. South Korea lost to Kazakhstan 0-5.
