CIS Agriculture Producers’ Forum to be held in Turkmenistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Forum of Agriculture Producers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and exhibition of agroindustrial sector will be held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, on 25-27 November 2009.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguli Berdymuhamedov proposed this initiative at the CIS informal summit in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on 6 June 2008. Turkmen leader said the forum is important to solve food security.

On 14 November 2008, Intergovernmental Council of agroindustrial sector of the CIS adopted decision to hold the forum and the exhibition in Ashgabat along with next meeting of the council in November 2009. The exhibition will demonstrate the best products and equipment of agroindustrial sector.
