Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Rescuers in Uzbekistan have found a missing four-year-old boy in the mountainous area of the Ahangaran district in the Tashkent region, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.

The incident occurred on 13 April, when a family of six went to a mountainous area for leisure. Around 5:00 p.m., they climbed higher into the hills to see snow. After returning, the family noticed the child was missing approximately 40 minutes later.

Relatives immediately contacted emergency services, prompting the deployment of search and rescue units from the regional emergency department, as well as teams from the “Kamchik” division. The search operation lasted more than six and a half hours.

At 00:20 on 14 April, rescuers from the Almalyk specialized search unit located the boy alive. He was found about three kilometers from the point where he went missing, standing knee-deep in snow.

Following the operation, the child was handed over to his relatives. Authorities reported that his condition is good. The ministry also released video footage showing rescuers carrying the child to safety.
