CEC official: Voter turnout makes up over 78.4%

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- As of 17:00 Tashkent time, over 78.4% of voters casted their ballots at the elections to the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Deputy Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan Svetlana Artikova stated.

She noted that over 16.229 million voters participated in the elections to the lower house of the Uzbek parliament. This makes up over 78.4% of total number of voters.

According to the CEC, over 20.789 million people can cast their votes in the parliamentary elections.

She added that the CEC did not receive any information on violations of election legislation during the voting.
