Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan has strongly condemned an attempted attack involving an unmanned aerial vehicle directed toward the holy city of Mecca in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Uzbek Foreign Ministry’s press service reported this.

Uzbekistan expressed full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and described as unacceptable any actions that threaten holy sites, civilians and civilian infrastructure.

The ministry called on all sides to exercise maximum restraint, strictly comply with international law, and respect the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of states.

The Foreign Ministry also expressed support for efforts aimed at reducing tensions, preventing the further spread of the conflict, and ensuring peace, security and stability in the region.
