Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) —Uzbekistan presidential spokesman Sherzod Asadov highlighted meetings and events held during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s state visit to South Korea and the first Central Asia-Republic of Korea Summit. He shared the details on social media.
According to Asadov, the president held meetings with leaders of Central Asian countries during the visit, discussing bilateral relations and new cooperation plans. He noted an atmosphere of trust and informal communication among the heads of state.
The presidential spokesman also highlighted Mirziyoyev’s meeting with Lee Wook-hyeon, former ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan. During their conversation, they recalled the years they worked together to strengthen Uzbek-Korean relations.
Ahead of the summit, Mirziyoyev also signed a Korean-language translation of the book “The Mirziyoyev Doctrine” for the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea.
As part of the state visit, the Korean side prepared a number of gestures of attention. The Uzbek flag was displayed on South Korea’s tallest building, Lotte World Tower, and on the Seoul TV Tower.
In addition, an airship in the colours of the Uzbek flag appeared over the city, while illuminated images of Uzbekistan’s state emblem and flag were displayed on a fountain in front of the residence.
Asadov said these elements accompanying the visit demonstrated the hospitality of the host side and its respect for Uzbekistan.
