Uzbekistan, KOICA Discuss New Areas of Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) discussed the current state and prospects for further bilateral cooperation at a meeting on 3 September.

Munira Aminova, adviser to Uzbekistan’s foreign minister, met with Kim Myong Jin, the new director of the KOICA Office in Uzbekistan.

The meeting highlighted KOICA’s significant contribution to implementing social and infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation in artificial intelligence and digitalization. The sides discussed opportunities to introduce AI technologies in healthcare, agriculture and education.

The agenda also covered climate change and water resource management.

The sides expressed mutual interest in further expanding the partnership and developing new joint initiatives, taking into account Uzbekistan’s national development priorities and the experience of the Republic of Korea.

The participants also emphasized the importance of close coordination and regular exchanges of views when identifying promising areas and projects for future cooperation.
