Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan national team defender Bekhruz Karimov scored his first goal for Swiss club Lugano in the fourth-round match of the Swiss top flight. Lugano defeated St. Gallen 4-0 at home.

The 19-year-old Karimov started the match and scored in the 35th minute to make it 4-0. The Uzbek defender was shown a yellow card in the 15th minute for a hard challenge.

The goal was Karimov’s first for Lugano and his first in European football. He joined the Swiss club from Surkhon Termez in August this year. The two sides signed a five-year contract.

At the 2026 World Cup, Karimov was the youngest player in Uzbekistan’s squad. The defender started and played the full matches in the group stage against Colombia and Portugal, which ended 1-3 and 0-5, respectively.
