Air Astana to open flight to Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Air Astana, Kazakhstan’s airline, is planning to open flight from Almaty, Kazakhstan, to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, till the end of 2010.

The airline said Embraer E-190 aircraft with 94-seats will be used to carry out regional flights. The airline will received the first three E-190 in the early 2011, the company said.

The airline said it will use Airbus A320 in regional flights till the arrival of new aircrafts. The company said the new flight will expand the airline’s route networks, which includes 21 internal and 23 international flights.

Air Astana was registered in 2001 and it carried out first flight between Almaty and Astana on 15 May 2002. The Kazakh government owns 51% in Air Astana and BAE Systems PLC (UK) - 49%.
