Uzbekistan Discusses Lithium-Ion Battery Production

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Prospects for organising lithium-ion battery production in Uzbekistan were discussed on 4 June during business events involving representatives of Hong Kong companies and organisations.

Mirziyod Yunusov, Chairman of the Uzavtosanoat Association, held a meeting with Chen Xiaolong, Secretary of the Board of Directors of Contemporary Amperex Resources Group. The talks took place within a roundtable chaired by the Chairman of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Frederick Ma.

The sides reviewed opportunities for implementing an investment project to produce lithium-ion batteries in Uzbekistan and discussed the creation of high-tech production facilities in the electrical engineering sector.

During the meeting, participants noted that cooperation in this area could contribute to the production of key components for energy storage systems, electric transport, and modern electrical engineering products.

Following the talks, participants confirmed their interest in further cooperation and continued work on prospective joint projects.
