Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has discovered a new gas condensate field, named Borisoy, in the Shurtan area of Guzar district in Kashkadarya region, state-owned company Uzbekneftegaz said.
The field was identified during exploratory drilling that began on 5 August. The well reached a depth of 3,159 metres. During tests conducted by specialists from Uzbekgeofizika, natural gas and condensate flowed from geological formations at depths of 2,842 to 3,001 metres.
The daily gas flow recorded during testing ranged from 300,000 to 400,000 cubic metres.
Following the completion of testing, the gas is scheduled to be sent for processing from 15 October before being supplied to consumers.
Specialists are currently examining the characteristics and production potential of the field's productive formations. A second exploratory well is also planned at the site before the end of the year.
